Adult Classes are held on Wednesdays at the Z-spot. Each class starts with conditioning, strengthening, and stretching exercises with a foundation in ballet as relevant to the dance being taught. New moves and technique is taught, reviewed, and practiced each session. Each session typically ends with work on a choreography.
During 2016-2017, IPA is focusing on archiving the dances gathered over the summer on the eastern boarder of Iran. It is important that we teach these dances as a part of our archiving efforts and share them with our students. We encourage you to try these, mostly unfamiliar dances and find the joy we have found when we learned them.
Special workshops are offered during the winter session in order to generate time for teacher training, and provide students with an opportunity to learn a few dances for use in social events that follow for the celebration of Norooz (New Years-March).
During the fall and spring terms, the first day of each session is special in that you can pay the price of one drop-in ($20) and try two classes. If you decide to sign up for the term, that will apply toward the total cost of the term.
The special workshops will have a special link for registration. You may use a punch-card for these.
Address: 181 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA
